MODIFIED LONG STROKE RAMS
Custom-made modified long stroke
rams, purchased from HTC, proved valuable in tensioning up large
conductors on heavy tension lines in the Wairarapa.
Electrix Contract Manager in
Palmerston North, Jon Edwards, says the specially-fitted
out 22ton 800mm long stroke rams mean some re-wiring projects can
be done on the ground, making work easier and cutting the time in
half.
Says Jon, "We gave HTC the ratings
and measurements and the rams were fabricated to suit. We specified
what we needed and they came up with the solution."
Special collars were fitted to the
ends of the rams, along with chain shorteners, for use when chain
hoists are too cumbersome.
